Light and art have always had the power to reveal and reframe connections between the past and the future. Internationally renowned artist Victoria Coeln brings these two media together in a language shaped by her artistic practice: an expressive form at the intersection of the visible and the invisible. In LichtStrauss<\/em>, she stages the expansive parkland of Vienna\u2019s Stadtpark as an intermedial world stage for all\u2014an immersive light art installation inspired by bold, decisive women from Strauss\u2019 operettas. The protagonists are distinguished women of today who have chosen to perform publicly in their own characteristic, highly personal ways. Filmed in Coeln\u2019s studio and transformed into virtual \u201cpersonas,\u201d they inhabit specially created light habitats\u2014so-called Chromotopes<\/em>.
