Over the years, Basma has cultivated a distinctive style that presents traditional Arabic music in a fresh and captivating manner, blending in elements of jazz and contemporary influences.
This is evident in her remarkably expressive voice, which effortlessly navigates the intricate alleys of Arabic music and the complexities of the Arabic Maqam, exuding both gentleness and raw emotion, passion and melancholy, all with an authentic charm.
She has been part of several highly acclaimed international music projects, including “Basma & Orwa”, “Vienna Acoustic Diaries”, and “Wiener Stimmen [Voices of Vienna]”. Additionally, she has lent her talent to various musical films and theatre productions, such as “Unsere Fremden [Our Strangers]”. She participated in musical performances and festivals in Europe, the Arab world, Canada and America.
In 2023, Basma completed work on her debut solo album “Furat,” a testament to her extensive, extraordinary musical journey, beautifully showcasing her exceptional artistry. (1150Z)
