Stefan Horvath belongs to the Burgenland-Rom_nija and was born in 1949 in the second Roma settlement in Oberwart. His three main works are Ich war nicht in Auschwitz (2003), Katzenstreu (2007) and Atsinganos. The Oberwart Roma and their settlements (2013). On February 4, 1995, he lost his son in the assassination attempt carried out by Franz Fuchs, which also claimed the lives of three other young men. He describes this traumatic experience and the impact it had on his life in the book Katzenstreu. The title was chosen because part of the bomb that cost the four men their lives consisted of a litter tray.
