As a composer, he has written over 50 opuses, including 5 musicals, original music for numerous plays such as “Faust”, “Madame Mikado” etc. As a conductor, composer and pianist, Gabor Rivo has traveled to 4 continents. Gabor Rivo has worked with conductors such as Leonard Bernstein and Nikolaus Harnoncourt. As musical director, he has conducted “Dance of the Vampires”, “The King & I”, “Nunnsense”, “My Fair Lady”, “Chicago”, ‘Anatevka’, “Lucky Stiff”, “Man of La Mancha”, “Life without Chris” (Austrian EA), “Aspects of Love” (Austrian EA), “Mamma Mia!”, “A Very Potter Musical” (European EA) and others, but also operatic works such as Hans Werner Henze's “Pollicino” (Austrian EA), “Bastien und Bastienne”, De Falla's “Meister Pedros Puppenspiel”, “Mozart und Salierei”, operettas such as “Saison in Salzburg” and sacred music. He has worked for VBW for over 30 years and for Seachefs-TUI for 13 years. Since 2022 he has conducted the summer productions of the Seefestspiele in Mörbisch. Numerous CD and radio recordings. (As musical director: Luigi Cherubini: Requiem in C, Lenk/Rivo: “Pfingsten - A Mystery Musical”, Steinman/Kunze: “Tanz der Vampire” and others, numerous CD-s as MD and piano accompanist) Gabor Rivo was responsible for Austria's largest musical training centers as artistic director for over 18 years. He also conducts numerous annual seminars for choral music, accompaniment practice and musicals in Austria and abroad.
