“No matter if I’m acting in theatre, shooting a film, hosting a reading, or creating my solo programmes – I’m always telling a story to the people, so I am a storyteller!” says Katharina Stemberger about herself.
She is an actress, professor at the MUK, producer, and civil society activist. Her acting repertoire ranges from light television entertainment to tragic heroines on stage. Since 2021, she has played the role of detective Joe Haizinger in the television series Soko Linz. Stemberger is the artistic co-director of the theatre festival HIN & WEG in Litschau. For many years, she served as chairwoman of the board at the Integrationshaus in Vienna.
In 2020, she co-founded the initiative Courage – Mut zur Menschlichkeit together with friends. Her first book, Courage. Warum es sich lohnt anzuecken, was published by Moldenverlag in spring 2023. Together with her husband, director and author Fabian Eder, she runs the film company BACKYARD – Manufaktur für Film.
