Born in 1982, Clemens Wenger lives and works in Vienna as a musician and composer specializing in contemporary jazz, pop, and electronic music. His education includes studies in jazz piano and composition, as well as a master's programme in Music for Film & Media.

"Clemens Wenger has long since become a key figure in Vienna’s young music scene," writes Klaus Nüchtern in a portrait for FALTER. He initiated JazzWerkstatt Wien, has led this music collective for 16 years, and is the driving force behind the successful Viennese soul band 5/8erl in Ehr’n. Most recently, Wenger released PHYSICS OF BEAUTY, a collection of 32 pieces presented as an interactive digital artwork.
The website www.physicsofbeauty.art received international recognition in music and design media, won the Content Vienna grand prize, and was listed on the Longlist 1/2021 of the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik in the Electronics/Experimental category.

Together with Mira Lu Kovacs, Wenger released THE URGE OF THE NIGHT, for which he created special arrangements of her pop songs for a ten-piece ensemble including a horn quartet.

Wenger has composed theatre music for Volkstheater Wien, Münchner Volkstheater, Landestheater Tirol, netzzeit, wenn es soweit ist, among others. He has been awarded the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards five times.
