David Kerber


David Kerber has been a permanent ensemble member of the Volksoper Wien since the 2022/23 season, where he has performed roles such as Alfredo (La traviata), Dr. Otto Siedler (Im weißen Rössl), Steuermann (Der fliegende Holländer), and Alfred (Die Fledermaus). In early 2023, he made his debut as Tamino with the Nederlandse Reisopera. He has also appeared as a guest at the Staatsoper Stuttgart (FrohDas Rheingold), Vlaamse Opera Antwerpen, the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, and the Tiroler Landestheater.

In 2019, he made his debut at the Bregenz Festival (Theater am Kornmarkt) as Triquet in Eugene Onegin. Deeply committed to Baroque music, he recorded the role of the Evangelist in St. Matthew Passion in 2021, together with the Academia Jakobus Steiner and the Wilten Boys’ Choir, released by hänssler Classic.

He is also co-founder of the festival Alles Lied. in Breitenwang, Tyrol.

David Kerber has received awards from numerous competitions and foundations, including the Professor Armin Weltner Foundation Prize from Zurich at La Scala in Milan, and several prizes at the International Haydn Singing Competition 2021 in Rohrau, the 36th Concorso Internazionale di Canto “Maria Caniglia” in Sulmona, and Elīna Garanča’s Zukunftsstimmen competition.
