
The Austrian baritone Adrian Eröd has been delighting audiences and the press for years at his home opera house, the Vienna State Opera, with his versatility in a wide variety of roles such as Prospero in Thomas Adès' The Tempest, Olivier in Strauss' Capriccio or Sixtus Beckmesser in Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, with which he has also appeared in Bayreuth, Zurich, Cologne, Leipzig, Tokyo, Amsterdam and - under the direction of Christian Thielemann - in Dresden and at the Salzburg Easter Festival.
His numerous guest appearances include the Berlin State Opera, La Scala in Milan, the Opéra de Paris, the Houston Grand Opera and the Chicago Lyric Opera, the Hamburg State Opera, the Frankfurt Opera and the New National Theatre in Tokyo. Most recently, he sang Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
In addition to his work on the opera stage, Adrian Eröd is regularly invited to the international concert stage, where he has worked with such famous conductors as Marek Janowski, Fabio Luisi, Riccardo Muti, Andris Nelsons, Sir Simon Rattle, Christian Thielemann and Franz Welser-Möst.
