Barbara Angermaier

Barbara Maria Angermaier was born in Vienna and pursued a professional path from an early age—first at the Musikgymnasium Wien as part of a pilot program and later at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. She regularly seeks inspiration from renowned artists, including KS Linda Watson, Gerhard Kahry, KS Angelika Kirchschlager, Deborah York, and Peter Schreier.

Fascinated by the rich spectrum of the music world, she moves between diverse fields and demonstrates her skills across various genres:

Her artistic range extends from early music and historically informed performance practice with Teatro Barocco at Stift Altenburg, to the first crime opera Figaro und die Detektiv*Innen, or the interactive house tour Papagena jagt die Fledermaus at the Theater an der Wien, to new and innovative art formats such as Opera-All-Around (including the first #stayathomeopera during the first lockdown, a Fledermaus production in Vienna’s public pools, or Entführung aus dem Serail staged in a dilapidated factory hall).

Her field of work also expands to acting, as well as film and television, reflecting her broad artistic interests.

Because one thing is clear: Barbara Maria Angermaier is up for anything and can be found wherever there is life, creativity, and that special spark of inspiration.
