Boris Eder


Boris Eder studied acting and musical theatre with Prof. Susi Nicoletti at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and at the Hollywood Acting Workshop in Los Angeles, and still takes singing lessons with Carol Blaickner-Mayo.
In 1991, he made his debut as Stani at the Salzburg Festival in Hofmannsthal's "Der Schwierige" and the following autumn at the Vienna Burgtheater in the same role. Further engagements have also taken him to the Altes Schauspielhaus Stuttgart, the Reichenau Festival and the Theater an der Wien, where he appeared as Emanuel Schikaneder in the world premiere of the musical "Mozart" in the 1999/2000 season and as Don Miguel in Offenbach's "La Périchole" directed by Nikolaus Habjan in 2023.
Boris Eder was a member of the ensemble at the Theater in der Josefstadt from 1996 to 2006.
As a singer, he made guest appearances as a Conférencier in "Cabaret" at the Graz Opera, as Dr Siedler and Leopold in "Weißes Rössl" (Kammerspiele Vienna and Theater am Kurfürstendamm Berlin).
From 2012 to 2020, Boris Eder was a member of the ensemble at the Vienna Volksoper, where he sang and performed roles such as Leopold, Hans Styx ("Orpheus in der Unterwelt"), Theophil ("Frau Luna"), Josef ("Wiener Blut") and Baron Koloman Zsupán ("Gräfin Mariza").
In 2015, Boris Eder was nominated for the Austrian Music Theatre Award in the category "Best Male Supporting Role" for his interpretation of Koloman Zsupán.
