
Daniela Mühlbauer was born in Salzburg in 1976 and trained in dance and musical theater in Salzburg and Vienna. Since 2001, she has shaped the work at the Burgtheater Vienna as an in-house choreographer and body coach and has worked on numerous productions by renowned directors such as Peter Zadek, Hans Neuenfels, Andrea Breth, Karin Beier, Andreas Kriegenburg, Stefan Bachmann and Stephan Kimmig. She choreographed “Maria Stuart” for the Salzburg Festival in 2021. She has supervised several productions by Martina Gredler, including Richard Alfieri's "Sechs Tanzstunden in sechs Wochen" and "Jagdszenen aus Niederbayern". Her own dance theater productions have been performed in the casino and vestibule of the Burgtheater, including “Nightmare 4 Lovers” in 2012, inspired by Shakespeare's “A Midsummer Night's Dream”. Since 2019, she has been choreographing for the Theater in der Josefstadt in collaboration with directors such as Amélie Niermeyer, Herbert Föttinger and Stephan Müller. At the same time, she is involved in promoting young talent. As a lecturer in physical design, she taught at the Max Reinhardt Seminar from 2016 to 2019 and the theater year of the Junge Burg for six years. Her most recent joint work with Michael Schachermaier, “Die Dreigroschenoper”, was performed at the 2024 Bad Hersfeld Festival.
