
Dominique Wiesbauer, born in Baden in 1986, initially worked as a prop maker and stage technician after completing high school. In 2009, she began studying stage and film design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
During her studies, she contributed to short and feature film productions in various roles, including set designer, costume designer, and prop master. She also gained experience as an assistant and set designer at institutions such as the Burgtheater Vienna.
Since 2013, she has worked as a freelance stage and costume designer and video artist. Her work has been seen at the Burgtheater Vienna, Theater in der Josefstadt, Rabenhof Theater Vienna, Cologne Opera, Neue Oper Vienna, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, and the Berliner Ensemble, among others.
In 2015, she was nominated for the Nestroy-Preis in the category Young Talent for her set design for Das Schwert des Ostens. In 2018, she won the Opera Concept Challenge of the Nederlandse Reisopera in collaboration with director Kai Anne Schuhmacher.
She has maintained a close artistic partnership with director Christina Tscharyiski since 2014.
