
The Linz-born soprano Ilia Staple received her vocal training at the university in her hometown, studying under Katerina Beranova.
Since 2018, she has been a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where she has appeared in numerous leading roles, including the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), Gilda (Rigoletto), Musetta (La Bohème), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Ida (Der junge Lord), Adele (Die Fledermaus), Olympia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), and Kunigunde (Candide).
From 2016 to 2018, she was part of the Oberösterreichisches Opernstudio at the Landestheater Linz, where she performed roles such as Despina (Così fan tutte), Rosetta in Erich Zeisl’s Leonce und Lena, Flaminia (Il mondo della luna), and Bellezza (Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno).
At the Salzburger Landestheater, she appeared as Franziska Cagliari (Wiener Blut) and Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady), and at the Bad Leonfelden Musical Weeks, she portrayed Christine (The Phantom of the Opera) and Maria (West Side Story).
As part of the international Brucknerfest, the young soprano performed as Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) and Bubikopf (Der Kaiser von Atlantis). Her repertoire also includes Eurydice (Orpheus in der Unterwelt), Bronislawa (Der Bettelstudent), Christl (Der Vogelhändler), Adele, and Kunigunde.
In the summer of 2021, Ilia Staple made her debut at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl as Woglinde in Richard Wagner’s Das Rheingold.
