
Jakob Gruchmann, born in 1991 in Salzburg, studied at the Mozarteum University and the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. He has received several distinctions, including a residency grant in Marseille and an annual scholarship from the State of Salzburg. He currently serves as Professor of Composition and Music Theory as well as Vice-Rector at the Gustav Mahler Private University for Music in Klagenfurt.
His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Musica Sacra a Roma Composition Prize, the Toru Takemitsu Award in Tokyo, and the Bernhard Paumgartner Medal from the Mozarteum Foundation.
