Janoska Ensemble

New directions in music are emerging under ever more imaginative labels, with fusion and crossover genres expanding rapidly. Yet the classically trained Janoska Ensemble goes beyond all boundaries with its truly polyglot musical language. Their debut album JANOSKA STYLE (Deutsche Grammophon, 2016) quickly achieved gold status and set the tone for what followed. Their 2019 release REVOLUTION also reached gold, followed by the 2022 album THE BIG B’s. The ensemble’s fourth album for Deutsche Grammophon, THE FOUR SEASONS, will be released in October 2024.

Describing the Janoska Ensemble's distinctive arrangements in a few words is no easy task. Their music is a bold journey into classical tradition and beyond—into a rich, diverse repertoire where spontaneous creativity shapes vibrant, first-class interpretations. Their on-stage improvisations have become a signature element, electrifying audiences and defining their unmistakable style.

At the heart of the ensemble are three brothers from Bratislava—Ondrej and Roman Janoska on violins, and František Janoska on piano—joined by their Konstanz-born brother-in-law, Julius Darvas, on double bass.
