
Judith Fliedl is an Austrian-born violinist. She is a multiple award winner at national and international competitions and, in recent years, has established herself both as a soloist and in various ensembles, with a focus on chamber music in the context of contemporary music.
Alongside her solo projects and her residency at Klangforum Wien, Judith Fliedl has held the position of "Research Assistant" at the Doctoral School for Artistic Research at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz since autumn 2023.
A key part of her work is the exploration and development of new interdisciplinary concert formats. The focus is on investigating new concert possibilities in the context of contemporary music, with an emphasis on audience involvement.
She has performed internationally in the USA, Canada, Korea, England, Germany, Norway, France, and many other countries. In addition to engagements at renowned festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Windsor Festival, the Oxford Chamber Music Festival, the Pablo Casals Festival, the Maribor Festival, the Aurora Festival, the Musiktage Mondsee, the Carinthian Summer Festival, the Wiener Festwochen, and the Impuls Festival Graz, she regularly performs at Austria's most important venues, including the Wiener Konzerthaus and the Wiener Musikverein.
In the 2025/2026 season, Judith Fliedl will perform as a soloist in the NASOM programme in the field of contemporary music at prestigious festivals both nationally and internationally.
Since 2017, Judith Fliedl has been a member of Trio Artio, which she co-founded. In the 2019/2020 season, the ensemble was the first "Featured Ensemble" of Jeunesse Austria and was selected for the New Austrian Sound of Music (NASOM) funding programme, enabling performances on international stages.
After studies with Igor Ozim and Pierre Amoyal at the Mozarteum Salzburg, as well as further training at the Royal College of Music and Trinity College of Music in London, Judith Fliedl pursued chamber music studies at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. As part of her postgraduate studies with Klangforum Wien, Judith was supported by a residency scholarship. Additional musical impulses came from Pavel Vernikov, Leonidas Kavakos, Eberhard Feltz, Ernst Kovacic, Sophie Schafleitner, and Heinrich Schiff.

Marcosig, the Gianluca Campochiaro, the Manhattan International Competition, the Brahms Competition, and the Lions Competition. In 2023, Judith received the Startstipendium for Music and Arts from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts and Culture. In autumn 2024, she received the Best Practice Award from the KUG for the interim presentation of her research.
She plays a violin by Lorenzo Storioni (1780), which has been provided to her on private loan.
