Lars Eidinger, born in Berlin in 1976, is a German actor and director. After graduating from the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin in 1999, Eidinger joined the ensemble of the Berliner Schaubühne, where he quickly became one of the outstanding actors of his generation. Known for his intense stage presence and versatility, he has played numerous roles in classical and contemporary plays, particularly in productions by Thomas Ostermeier. In 2021 and 2022, he played the title character in the annual “Jedermann” at the Salzburg Festival. He directed “The Robbers” and “Romeo and Juliet” at the Schaubühne Berlin. In addition to his theater work, Eidinger has also built an impressive career in film and television. His best-known film roles include appearances in “Alle anderen” (2009), “Sterben” (2024) and international productions such as “Personal Shopper” (2016), “White Noise” (2023) and “Irma Vep” (2023) Eidinger's unconventional and charismatic portrayals have earned him both critical acclaim and a loyal fan base. In addition to his acting, he has also made a name for himself as a DJ and photographer, underlining his versatility and creativity. In 1998, a vinyl 10” EP was released on the Berlin label !K7 under the title ‘I'll Break Ya Legg’ and he has published two illustrated books with Hatje Cantz entitled ‘Autistic Disco’ and ‘O Mensch’. In 2024, he presented his first solo museum exhibition with selected photographs and video works at the K21 Kunstsammlung NRW.
