Matthias Guntner (*2002 in Ried im Innkreis) received his first composition lessons at the age of 15 from Till Alexander Körber. He then studied composition and music theory with Dietmar Schermann at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and has since specialized in media composition with Walter Werzowa. In parallel, he is also studying at the Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien.
In 2024, he composed music for Red Bull, which was recorded at the renowned Vienna Synchron Stage. His Scherzo, created in collaboration with Carolina Caballero and the Ars Electronica Future Lab, was premiered in September 2025 by the Bruckner Orchestra Linz. His music has also received multiple awards at international competitions, including in the Netherlands and Lithuania.
Guntner works primarily as a film composer and is also actively engaged as a board member of the Austrian Film Association. In March 2025, his film music was presented at the “Music & Cinema” Festival in Marseille.
