Max Mutzke, born in the Black Forest in 1981, is a German singer, songwriter and musician. He now has several albums to his name, with “Durch einander” even going platinum. Max's parents gave him access to music at an early age and he is practically at home at concerts. Before he focuses on his unique voice, Max focuses on the drums. Apart from his father, who is a role model for his son, he explains that drums are fascinating for children. “You bang on it and it does what it's supposed to: It's loud and awesome.” He sings the harmonies he has in his head while he plays. And develops an independence, as the saying goes: “I rapped while playing 5/4 beats. Others have problems just getting the groove on the drums.” Max Mutzke likes pop, rock, soul, funk and jazz. What he doesn't like at all is mainstream. And not just in music.
