
The Leipzig-born tenor Maximilian L. A. Müller gained valuable musical experience from an early age and throughout his youth as a chorister and soloist with the Leipzig Thomanerchor, performing on the stages of various international concert halls.
In 2017, after completing his secondary education, he began his vocal studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. Peter Edelmann. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in 2022 and subsequently began his Master’s studies in Vocal Performance, also under the guidance of Prof. Peter Edelmann, as well as Prof. Anton Scharinger and Prof. Wolfgang Dosch.
He has also received further artistic inspiration from Kammersänger Siegfried Jerusalem, KS Robert Holl, and KS Michael Schade.
His repertoire spans opera, operetta, as well as concert and art song.
In May 2024, he made his debut at the Vienna State Opera as a Lehrbube in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.
During the opening season of the Vienna State Opera’s new venue, “NEST”, he portrayed roles such as the Steersman (The Flying Dutchman) and Froh (Das Rheingold) in the production “Wagnis Wagner”.
He has also performed roles such as Tamino in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, the Theatre Director in Eötvös’ Radames, Gabriel von Eisenstein in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, and Raoul de St. Brioche in Lehár’s The Merry Widow.
In upcoming productions, he will appear as Janio in Indigo and the 23 Robbers – a reimagining of Johann Strauss’ Indigo and the Forty Thieves – as part of the “Johann Strauss 2025 Vienna” festival year, as well as Gustave in Offenbach’s Pomme d’Api and Jacquot in Pierrette and Jacquot at the “Festival Gegen den Strom”.
