
Nora Romanoff-Schwarzberg, born in New York and raised in Vienna, is the fourth generation to carry on her family's musical tradition. As a violist, she inspires with her artistic charisma and regularly performs internationally. She has played as a soloist and chamber musician in renowned venues such as the Vienna Musikverein, the Salle Pleyel in Paris and at festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, and has performed with outstanding artists such as Martha Argerich, Mischa Maisky, Renaud Capuçon and Gabriela Montero. Her CD recordings have been released by Naxos, Gramola, EMI Classics and Warner Classics and have been nominated several times for the GRAMMY Awards. in addition to her international career, she is a member of the ensemble LUX and the “trio l'après-midi”. She is also the initiator and artistic director of award-winning concert series such as the PODIUM.festival Mödling and the open-air concert series musik:befreit in Vienna.
