
Growing up in Essen and Hamburg, Thomas discovered the piano at the age of four. By 12, he had composed his first song, and at 13, he performed for the first me in a Hamburg music club. Soon after, he founded his first band, Cakewalk, which gained recogniton in Hamburg’s live music scene over the years and won first place in numerous band competitions, including the NDR Hörfest. After studying at the Stage School of Music, Dance & Drama, he has since played countless leading musical roles across Europe. Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn even wrote the musical "The Count of Monte Cristo" especially for him.
Alongside his musical theater career, Thomas Borchert continued writing songs, performing solo concerts, and released his first album in 1999. To date, he has recorded four more albums and an EP featuring his own songs, including "Mehr als jedes Wort", which won the
German Song Poets Award. He also composed the music for the musical SCHOLL – Die Knospe der Weißen Rose, which premiered in April 2023 at the Stadttheater Fürth.
With his solo programs "Der Vampir am Klavier" and "Beflügelte Weihnachten", Thomas Borchert regularly tours. Together with his wife, Navina Heyne, he developed the concert formats "Mr. & Mrs. Musical" and "Let The Sky Fall – The BOND Concert Show".
Vienna has become his second artistic home, where he has performed in Elisabeth (Lucheni / Death), Mozart! (Leopold Mozart / Colloredo), Jekyll & Hyde (title role), Evita (Perón), and Tanz der Vampire (Count von Krolock), as well as giving regular concerts.
