Wherever in the world passengers board an Austrian Airlines flight, they are welcomed to Vienna with the sounds of Austria’s waltz king, Johann Strauss. Runway – The Blue Danube presents a new duality of the Strauss waltz, not only as a synonym for blue, wonderful waves and the melody of rushing water but also as a resonance of airplane engines. This composition addresses the evaluation of environmental policies and aims to encourage society to reflect on its present and future.
