BLACK PAGE ORCHESTRA is an ensemble for radical and uncompromising contemporary music, founded in 2014 in Vienna.
The name of the ensemble was inspired by Frank Zappa’s composition the black page, a piece whose score, due to its high note density, resembles an almost entirely black page.
Beyond this aesthetic reference, the ensemble focuses on works that integrate electronics, video, and various contemporary technologies as artistic elements, as well as compositions that, through their performative character, go far beyond the traditional classical concert setting.
The collective’s commitment lies in experimental and diverse programming, constantly pushing the boundaries of what a concert experience can be.
