Waltraud Brauner, born in Vienna in 1983; since studying fine arts with a focus on photography at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna (2002-2009) and contemporary dance education at the MUK Conservatory of the City of Vienna (2007-2011), she has worked as a performer and freelance artist. At the interface of dance, performance and visual arts, she realises her own works as well as projects together with other artists/collectives, including NotFoundYet (2007-2010), Studio5 (2011/2012) and kunststoff (since 2012) and FOURDUMMIES (since 2013), Evy Jakhova (2016-2017), Melanie Ender (2017), Marlies Pöschl (2018). Among other things, she received the danceweb scholarship in 2008 and the Startstipendium für darstellende Kunst (BMUKK) in 2009 and was invited to various residencies in Austria and abroad, including the TURBO Residency (Impulstanz) in 2012, the residency at WorkSpaceBrussels in the studios of P.A.R.T.S. in 2013, Raum33 Wien in 2014, Artist at Resort at Tanzhotel Wien in 2015 and at Arbeitsplatz Wien and the Korrespondance Festival (CZ) in 2019. In addition to her artistic work, she has been working for the Vienna University Children's Office in the field of media education with children and young people since 2014.
