Anna Lucia Richter has established herself internationally as a versatile, ever-transforming mezzo-soprano in the fields of song, opera, and concert. Her voice—skillfully weaving Baroque lightness with Romantic drama—along with her dramatic expressiveness, grants her access to a broad repertoire: from Bach’s oratorios and Schubert’s lieder to the major operatic roles of her fach, spanning Monteverdi to Reimann.
She regularly receives invitations from leading international opera houses—from Amsterdam to Vienna, Berlin, and Cologne—and appears in concert with outstanding ensembles such as the Vienna Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra under conductors like Mäkelä, Welser-Möst, and Blomstedt. For recital programmes she collaborates with piano partners Ammiel Bushakevitz, Daniel Heide, and Gerold Huber.
Richter’s artistic work is documented on numerous recordings. In 2023, Licht, a musical journey through the German art song repertoire, was released.
She began her career as a soprano before transitioning into the mezzo fach under the guidance of Prof. Tamar Rachum. She studied with Kurt Widmer, Kelsie Kelly-Moog, and Margreet Honig and was mentored by Bernard Haitink, Mitsuko Uchida, and András Schiff.
