Gala Österreichischer Musiktheaterpreis 2025

This year marks the 13th presentation of The Austrian Music Theatre Prize. Each year, this award honors outstanding achievements in Austria's opera and theater houses, as well as in its vibrant festival scene. Productions from the previous theater season — by theaters, festivals, and independent companies — are evaluated in 21 categories by a renowned jury consisting of media representatives, internationally active artists and theater managers.

In celebration of the 200th birthday of Johann Strauss, the world’s most famous operetta composer, the 2025 The Austrian Music Theatre Prize ceremony will take place on September 17, 2025, as part of a gala event held in the Circus-Theater Roncalli tent at Heumarkt. The accompanying program will include artistic performances and excerpts from Cagliostro – Johann Strauss in the Circus Tent.
